Tiatia and Miller on the mend
March 18, 2000

While most of the Hurricanes' and Highlanders' weekend news were made by the injuries to Matua Parkinson and Taine Randell, there is better news of their colleagues Filo Tiatia and Paul Miller.

Tiatia, the barnstorming Hurricanes' No.8, was injured pre-season. With the injuries suffered by fellow back row men Gordon Falcon, Semo Sititi and now Matua Parkinson, coach Graham Mourie will no doubt be relieved to hear that Tiatia is hopeful of making a return to Wellington club rugby next weekend.Assuming all goes well there, a Super 12 return should not be too far away.

Highlanders' young No.8 Paul Miller suffered a similar pre-season fate. He too is expected to make a return to club rugby in Dunedin today (Sunday) for half a game, before playing a full game next weekend. Fortunately for the Highlanders they have the bye next weekend, giving them a chance to get Miller back into Super 12 action to cover for skipper Taine Randell.

He was injured in Friday night's narrow victory over the Cats and is expected to be out of action for at least four weeks.
