All Black pair on Reivers shopping list
March 26, 2000

Edinburgh Reivers have targeted New Zealand internationals Craig Dowd and Scott McLeod to join them for next season.
Dowd, 30, is a prop with the Auckland Blues while 27-year-old centre McLeod has made his name at Waikato Chiefs and both have huge experience for the All Blacks.
Reivers' Ian Rankin is keen for both players to be involved in superdistrict rugby next term and told the Sunday Herald he has made contact with the pairs' agents. He said: "I can't say we have no interest in either player because that would be a lie. They're both world class. If we're going to bring in foreign players they have to be outstanding players in key positions."
"We went through the mill in Europe playing against what were basically World XVs. There's no question of us having an open cheque book, but we have to bring in influential players alongside talented young Scots."
