March 31, 2000

Italy coach Brad Johnstone on Friday announced the agenda for the Six Nations Championship newcomers' summer tour to the South Pacific.

The former All Black prop, who has signed an initial two-year contract with Italy, confirmed that his side would be playing Test matches against Tonga, Samoa and his former team Fiji, whom he guided to a World Cup quarter-final play-off last year, in July.

The players will fly out to Fiji in two groups - unless a charter flight can be arranged - on June 27 and June 28.

The first Test match will be with Tonga on July 1 before facing Samoa on July 8.

Johnstone will have the chance to cross swords with his former charges in Fiji on July 15 in the final match of the tour.
