Williams commits future to Cardiff
April 5, 2000

New Welsh full back Rhys Williams has vowed to stay with Cardiff despite attracting interest from English Allied Dunbar Premiership clubs after his first rate test debut against Ireland.
The young Bridgend born player has also revealed that he will postpone an operation on his shoulder so that he can remain available for the summer development tour to Canada and the autumn tests against Samoa, USA and South Africa.
The operation was a possible solution to a problem with the cartilage in his right shoulder but the youngster believes that he can put it, and the six month lay off which would follow, off as a result of intensive physiotherapy.
"It feels fine and I am inclined to keep playing. The physiotherapists have worked hard and I have been building up my strength. I do not want to lose that by having an operation at the end of the season."
