Former British Lions star John Bentley has urged Wigan winger Jason Robinson to switch codes and accept a five-year contract from the RFU.

Bentley started the reverse trend when reverting to union after a successful stint in league with Leeds.

He believes that Robinson would be left with nothing but regrets if he does not take his chance of glory in the 15-a-side game.

"I think he will switch because he has done everything in rugby league," said Bentley.

"You don't want to be left looking over your shoulder with unanswered questions at the end of your career.

"Changing codes is far easier for a back than a forward, and Jason will be a great success.

"Union defences are getting better. But he is a freak he's like a kangaroo, and his broken-field running will be a sensation.

"Any team who signed Jason would make sure he saw as much of the ball as possible," Bentley told The Express.
