German national rugby union coach Peter Ianusevici announced Saturday that he was quitting the post following a series of poor results.

The former Romanian international, capped fifteen times for his national team, was appointed to the top German rugby job in October 1992.

However, he had come under increasing criticism particularly since Germany's 39-19 defeat at the hands of Denmark in Group B of the European Championships last Sunday, which could see them face relegation.
