May 29, 2000

Ireland centre Brian O'Driscoll has been ruled out of the three-Test tour to Argentina, the United States and Canada.

O'Driscoll tore a hamstring in Sunday's match against the Barbarians and failed a fitness test today.

Girvan Dempsey, Denis Hickie and Geordan Murphy have also pulled out of the
tour. The replacements are Peter McKenna, Mike Mullins, James Topping and Tyrone Howe.
It is hoped that Murphy will rejoin the tour squad in America next week after undergoing intensive physiotherapy in Dublin.
