Strong Vikings side awaits Scotland in tour opener

A mix of ex All Blacks, Super 12 players and World Sevens stars will line up in Whangarei on Friday June 9 to greet the Scots.

The side will be skippered by local hero, ex All Black and current Chiefs skipper Glenn Taylor. He will play alongside fellow Northlanders Hayden Taylor, Tony Monaghan, Justin Collins and Tim Knight. In addition, Jared Going , Nick White and Jason Hammond on the subs bench.Other ex All Blacks in the squad are Scott McLeod, Con Barrell, Mark Robinson and Charles Reichelmann and Xavier Rush, whilst Todd Miller was a New Zealand tourist to the UK in 1997. The full squad is :

Warren Johnston, Rico Gear, Justin Wilson, Hayden Taylor, Scott McLeod, Tony Monaghan, Steve Devine, Xavier Rush, Sam Vahafolau, Chris Jack, Glenn Taylor, Justin Collins, Con Barrell, Tim Knight, Keven Mealamu.

Subs : Mark Robinson, Jared Going, Todd Miller, Nick White, Jason Hammond, Charles Reichelmann ( plus one other player to be named ).

The squad will be co-coached by ex-Auckland coach Maurice Trapp and current Northland coach Bryce Woodward.
