Fiji's presence in Sevens Series in doubt

The political upheaval in Fiji has not only forced the local rugby union to scrap the Suva round of the World Sevens Series, but associated financial problems are threatening Fiji's involvement in the entire competition.

The turmoil meant Fiji missed out on hosting all but one of its home Pacific Rim matches, and Union CEO Bob Challenor says that loss of revenue could have dire consequences.

Challenor says if they can't compete, the series would turn into a one horse race, and probably lose much of its attraction.
