Martin Waite scored two tries as Glasgow Caledonians opened their pre-season tour of Canada with a 28-23 win over British Colombia President's XV.

Waite scored twice in the first half with captain Craig Chalmers converting
both before Jon Stuart added a third try six minutes before the break.

Darren Burns, who was a late replacement for Stewart Campbell in the line-up, finished the try scoring three minutes into the second period before being sin-binned midway through the half.

Waite charged down from a British Colombia scrummage to earn his first score after seven minutes before Gareth Flockhart broke clear to release Waite, who went under the posts for his second.

Fly-half Mike Sengara scored six penalties for the Canadian side with Dave Saklofsky scoring their only try.
