Union appoints Interpro refs.

The IRFU has released the details of the referees who will take charge of this season's Guinness Interprovincial series.

In a new system of appointments officials have been designated Panel Referees at level 1, 2 or 3 and as such, may be appointed to any match within their level, except involving their own Club.

The appointment of Leinster based David Tyndall to referee the match between Munster and Leinster and of Dave McHugh from Cork to referee the return fixture underlines this policy which continues the I.R.F.U. strategy of merit based selection for top matches.

Fri. Sept 1: Leinster v Connacht Olan Trevor
Ulster v Munster Alan Lewis
Fri. Sept 8: Munster v Leinster David Tyndall
Connacht v Ulster Donal Courtney
Fri. Sept 15: Leinster v Ulster David McHugh
Munster v Connacht Murray Whyte
Fri. Sept 22: Ulster v Leinster Bertie Smith
Sat. Sept 23: Connacht v Munster Tony Redmond
Fri. Sept 29: Munster v Ulster Alain Rolland
Sat. Sept 30: Connacht v Leinster Gareth Doyle
Fri. Nov 3: Ulster v Connacht Alan Lewis
