McConnell gets seven-week ban
September 8, 2000

Connacht captain Mark McConnell has been handed a seven-week ban by the IRFU's Disciplinary Committee.

The decision, which was made on Thursday night, comes as a result of his dismissal for illegal use of his feet against Leinster last Friday.

The ban means that Connacht coach Steph Nel will be without his captain until the 18th October, resulting in his absence from four Interprovincial games and the opening two games in the European Shield.
