Edinburgh Reivers 26 Glasgow Caledonians 33

Scotland prop David Hilton grabbed a late converted try to give Glasgow Caledonians victory over Edinburgh Reivers and move them up to second spot in the Celtic League.

The hosts had looked set to take a share of the points at Myreside, despite being under almost constant pressure, but Hilton's score ensured justice was done for Glasgow.

Reivers surged in front early on with a try by wing Cammy Murray, converted by Gordon Ross who then kicked a penalty goal.

But Caley responded well with lock Jason White bulldozing over.

Ross slotted another penalty at the other end to keep Reivers on top, but the rest of the half belonged to the visitors.
Mark McKenzie claimed his first penalty, then goaled a try by James Craig who was improvising at scrum-half.

McKenzie edged his side further in front with a dropped goal from 35 metres, before Ross landed his third penalty for the Reivers.

The Heriot's man repeated the dose three minutes after the restart, putting the Reivers back in front, but Caley bagged their third try through centre Jonno Stuart before Rowen Shepherd kicked a penalty.

Reivers skipper Graham Shiel then engineered a marvellous try to tie the scores at 26-26, but Hilton had the final say, with Shepherd converting.

Caley now sit behind table leaders Bridgend before Saturday's programme of Celtic League matches.
