Walter Little heading overseas ?

The veteran All Black midfield back is rumoured to have lined up a contract in Japan for 2001.

But the North Harbour man's agent has scotched such rumours, stating that Little is waiting on the imminent announcement of Super 12 squads for 2001 before making a final decision.

This year Little had a limited part to play in the Auckland Blues' Super 12 campaign before enjoying a superb NPC season for the Buck Shelford coached North Harbour side. Despite Little's recent good form it would be a surprise if he again made the Blues' squad, although there could be vacancies elsewhere. He played for the Waikato Chiefs in the first four years of Super 12. On the other hand, it could be that his long career in New Zealand rugby is at an end if he is not required for Super 12 duty and that his final rugby playing days will be played out overseas.
