More injury misery for Nicol
December 22, 2000

Injury will again rule Andy Nicol out of the Glasgow Caledonians side for Saturday's Celtic league trip to Neath.
The scrum half has a bruised thigh and will be replaced by Graeme Beveridge while Gordon Bulloch takes over as captain.

"Andy could have played if necessary," Richie Dixon, the Reds' coach, explained. "But when we've got another scrum half like Graeme Beveridge we didn't need to take the risk."

Beveridge's recall is the only change in the Reds' starting XV who were on duty for the 45-35 win against Llanelli at McDiarmid Park, Perth, on Sunday. Similarly, the only change among the replacements is that Fraser Stott has been called in because of Beveridge's promotion.

Glasgow Caledonians' team: Alan Bulloch; Jonathan Steel, James McLaren, Jon Stuart, James Craig; Tommy Hayes, Graeme Beveridge; David Hilton, Gordon Bulloch (captain), Gordon McIlwham; Stewart Campbell, Colin Stewart; Roland Reid, Donnie Macfadyen, Jon Petrie
Replacements: Dougie Hall, Alan Watt, Steve Griffiths, Gareth Flockhart, Fraser Stott, Shaun Longstaff,Mark McKenzie
