Lomu in squad for World Cup sevens

Jonah Lomu is one of 4 All Blacks named in Gordon Tietjens' initial 15-man training squad for the World Cup sevens to be held in Argentina at the end of January.

The others are skipper Eric Rush, Joeli Vidiri and Caleb Ralph. The squad will assemble in Palmerston North from January 3-6 after which a final squad of 10 will be picked for the World Cup event.

Matua Parkinson and Orene Ai'i were not considered because of injury and sevens veteran Dallas Seymour made himself unavailable for personal reasons.The squad has a powerful look to it, full of electrifying pace and tried and tested sevens qualities.New Zealand, along with Fiji, are sure to start as one of the tournament favourites.
