Come for an egg-cellent Easter day out at Irish
April 3, 2001

For the final time this season, the Craic in the Valley returns to the Madejski Stadium on Easter Bank Holiday Monday (16 April), with London Irish planning another great day of action and entertainment, both on and off the pitch.

London Irish will be battling against league rivals Gloucester in their last home game of the season, a key fixture for the club as it will decide their place in the Premiership playoffs.

"The game against Gloucester is an extremely crucial game for London Irish", team captain Conor O'Shea explains. "It determines our place in the play offs, so we are keeping our fingers crossed that we will have another win and bonus point."

All children attending the game will be able to collect their complimentary Easter egg, courtesy of Mars Confectionary and London Irish, at the cyber cafĂ©. Kids' tickets for the match are only £1 each.

With crowd figures at the recent St Patrick's Day game topping all records in the club's 102 year history, more than 12,500 people flocked to Reading for the March 17 game, the club is hoping to attract another big crowd for their Gloucester match. A lot of people in the Thames Valley experienced the craic for the first time at last month's Northampton game, and fingers crossed will now be hooked and become dedicated followers of the Exiles.

Attracting the biggest crowd was not the only record broken at their St Patrick's Day game. They also smashed the Guinness drinking record of 18,000 pints by 5,000, to make a new world record of 23,452 pints of Guinness downed, a record which was led by London Irish opponents Gloucester in last year's epic Tetley's Bitter Cup quarter-final. London Irish are hoping that with Gloucester's help they can break that record again at their Easter festival!
