Munster leave space for O'Cuinneagain

Former Ireland captain Dion O'Cuinneagain could make his first appearance for Munster in Friday evening's warm up game against The rest of Ireland.

The South African born flanker was not expected to jet in from Cape Town until Saturday morning but following hastily made re-arrangements to his travel plans he will now be at Kidneys disposal in Limerick on Friday night.

A warm up for the ex-Ulster flanker would be ideal for all parties as he has not played for several months, and the Munster management will be keen to see if he can do a job for them against Stade Français the following week.

Kidney's decision to name O'Cuinneagain as a squad member ahead of the Heineken Cup knock out stages now seems inspired after injuries to both front line flankers, David Wallace and Alan Quinlan.

Quinlan will be replace on the blind side by Donncha O'Callaghan while Peter Stringer is also missing. Tom Tierney will start as String continues to recover from a foot injury - but the Ireland no.1 hopes to be fit for next weekends crunch game in Lille.

Friday nights game will have equal importance for some of the Rest of Ireland squad with Donal Lenihan and Graham henry attending to assess the Lions prospects of several irish players.
