Pelous slams Bok tactics
June 24, 2001

Former France captain Fabien Pelous has slammed the tactics employed by South Africa during yesterday's second Test in Durban as ``unacceptable and bad for the image of rugby''.

France, who had won the first of the two-Test mini-series 32-23 last week, tumbled to a 20-15 defeat at the ABSA Stadium, unable to combat the Springboks' physical approach.

Pelous, who was rested for the game, told Le Parisien: ``I found the South Africans' behaviour unacceptable.

``It's appalling and I have no words to express what I really think. I know that rugby is a sport where you have to physically fight a lot but
when violence is becoming systematic it is not good for the image of rugby.''
