McBryde's tour likely to be over
June 29, 2001

Robin McBryde is set to become the Lions' latest injury departure of their 10-match tour to Australia.

Wales hooker McBryde has been troubled by a thigh problem since the second game against a Queensland President's XV in Townsville more than a fortnight ago.

McBryde has been undergoing regular treatment, and was expected to receive a scan today, but Lions manager Donal Lenihan admitted: ``It is highly unlikely that he will play again on tour.

``Robin is due to have a scan today and we just want verification.''

England hooker Dorian West has already arrived in Australia as cover, cutting short a family holiday, so the Lions will not have to call in another deputy.
