Three changes for Wallabies
August 8, 2001

Wallaby coach Eddie Jones has made three changes to the side for Saturday's Tri-Nations clash against New Zealand in Dunedin.

Five-eighth Stephen Larkham returns from injury with Elton Flatley moving back to the bench. Larkham has not played since the second Lions Test after sustaining a shoulder injury.

Lions hero Justin Harrison returns to the side at lock for the suspended David Giffin. Harrison was named man of the match in his Wallaby debut against the Lions at Stadium Australia and is a worthy replacement for Brumbies team-mate Giffin who is serving a three-week suspension after striking Springbok Robbie Fleck during the Test at Pretoria.

Waratahs flanker Phil Waugh comes onto the bench for team-mate David Lyons.

"It's pretty clear why Harrison and Larkham have been named, but on the bench we thought the inclusion of Phil Waugh would give us some new options for this match in Dunedin," Jones said. "Once again, anyone who misses out is unlucky and that certainly is the case with David Lyons but he'll travel with the team to assist management.

"Phil has always put the good of the team first and that's clearly evident in his training, which has been impeccable. I think seeing George Smith and Phil Waugh playing together would be something special to watch but we'll just have to wait and see."
