Brumbies job down to three
August 9, 2001

The race for the Brumbies coaching job has come down to three with a decision expected before the original announcement date of October 1.

The three - Sydney University's Ross Reynolds, Eastern Suburbs' Brian Smith and David Nucifora from Brisbane Wests - have already faced an interview panel that included George Gregan, Owen Finegan, Brumbies general manager Mark Sinderberry and outgoing coach Eddie Jones.

In addition to the interview process, the three were also given a tape of the Brumbies and asked to develop a game plan. The three will also be assessed at their respective club games this weekend.

"It is still very close and all three are still under consideration," Brumbies spokesman David Pembroke told the Daily Telegraph. "It is heartening for Australian rugby and the fourth Super 12 team that we have such quality candidates."
