Walker in doubt for Wallabies
August 28, 2001

Recalled Brumbies winger Andrew Walker is in serious doubt for Saturday's Tri-Nations Test against the All Blacks at Stadium Australia.

Walker woke up on Tuesday morning with tendinitis in his knee and is scheduled to have a scan to determine the extent of any injury.

Walker had only recently returned to the Wallaby camp after he was dropped from the Test against Springboks in Perth after leaving the squad unannounced to visit his family.

Chris Latham replaced him in that Test and should Walker's ailment fail to respond the Queensland fullback is likely to keep his place. And it would certainly ease the pressure on coach Eddie Jones who faces the dilemma of recalling Walker to the starting side or retaining Latham.

Jones must also decide whether to recall David Giffin to the second-row with his two-match suspension completed or to stick with Justin Harrison.
