Springbok training sessions cancelled
September 17, 2001

Springbok coach Harry Viljoen, in consultation with his management team, has taken the decision to cancel the proposed Springbok training sessions on Sunday 23rd and 30th of September as well as October 7th.

The idea in meeting on three successive Sundays was to get some form of national continuity in the build-up to the end of year tour, but because of the scheduling of Sunday matches and in some cases Friday matches in the Bankfin Currie Cup Top 8 stages, it makes the option of a Sunday session impractical.

As an alternative, Viljoen and Tim Lane plan to attend various provincial training sessions over the next three weeks, so as to get a closer look at specific individuals.
