Maka joins Bordeaux-Begles

Tongan tighthead Alani Maka has joined Bordeaux-Begles on loan from Auckland until the end of the season, the French topflight club said on Tuesday.

Maka, 22, is the nephew of the Maka brothers, Isitolo and Finau,who play at rival outfit Toulouse. Bordeaux-Begles are reportedly hoping to use Maka as replacement for the departing Italian-Argentine prop Rolando Porreca, linked with a move to rivals Dax.
