Coetzee gets SA 'A' job
September 26, 2001

Sarfu appointed Eastern Province Elephants Allister Coetzee as coach of the South African 'A' team for their tour of Europe in November.

Coetzee was in charge of the Springboks midweek team during last year's end-of-year tour of Argentina, the United Kingdom and Ireland. Springbok assistant coach Jake White and Boland Kavaliers coach Jerome Paarwater are his assistants.

According to chief executive of SA Rugby (Pty) Ltd chief executive Rian Oberholzer the inclusion of White on the management team is to ensure all national teams play a similar kind of game.

The 'A' team will play games against France 'A' on November 14, Georgia (November 17) and England A (November 21). Former Eastern Province and South African Rugby Union (Saru) scrumhalf Coetzee will also take charge of the South African under-23 side for the Africa Cup final against Morocco in Casablanca on November 10, with Paarwater and Alfred Mzizi as his assistants.

South Africa 'A' Management team: Allister Coetzee (coach), Jake White and Jerome Paarwater (assitant coaches), Francois Majoos (team doctor), Clint Meadowhead (physiotherapist), Genius Mnywabe (baggage master), Jonathan Goslett (administrative manager).
