Quins sign Samoan hooker

NEC Harlequins have signed Samoan hooker Ace Tiatia on a three-month contract.

The 25 year-old has won four international caps for Samoa and
has represented Otago Highlanders, Canterbury Crusaders and Wellington Hurricanes in the Super 12s.

Tiatia also won representative honours for New Zealand U19 and New Zealand Colts earlier in his career.

Quins were in desperate need of some cover in the hooker position with Keith Wood away on international duty for the next five Zurich Premiership matches, summer signing James Hayter out for the foreseeable future with a foot injury and Tani Fuga still recovering from an ankle injury.

Tiatia will arrive in the UK on Monday and will begin training with Quins the following day.
