New role for Lacroix
October 26, 2001

Former French international flyhalf Thierry Lacroix revealed on Thursday that he will be the new general manager of French side Bordeaux-Begles from July 2002.

"As of July 1, 2002, I will be the new general manager of the club thanks to the help of English and South African investors who I represent here," said Lacroix.

The former Perpignan player would not reveal the name of the investors who are bidding to purchase the 66 percent owned by the club's three joint-presidents Alain, Alban and Michel Moga.

Alain Moga said that he was confident about the transaction which was a private affair, and under the revamped structure he would remain co-president along with his two brothers.

Lacroix said that he would make Bordeaux-Begles "the leading club in France capable of usurping Toulouse and igniting jealousy." - Sapa-AFP
