Taylor to skipper the Blues
December 12, 2001

Glenn Taylor has been appointed skipper of the Blues for the 2002 Super 12 competition.

Blues coach Peter Sloane said Taylor was an obvious choice with his previous NPC experience leading Northland during the past two seasons and the respect he has as a player from both the team and management.

"We are delighted that Glenn has accepted the position as he has invaluable NPC and Super 12 experience as well as an excellent understanding of what is required as a captain, both on and off the field. We are also fortunate that the team has other leaders in Mark Robinson (North Harbour) and Xavier Rush (Auckland) who will provide Glenn with plenty of support," he said.
