Llanelli wing Jones doubtful for Tigers clash

Llanelli have injury concerns over win Mark Jones going into this weekend's crucial Heineken Cup clash with Leicester.

Scarlets team manager Anthony Buchanan says Jones's injury against Perpignan was not as bad as at first feared. There was also the good news that skipper Scott Quinnell has had no adverse reaction to knee and hamstring problems following his replacement appearance in the 42-10 defeat at Perpginan on Friday night.

"Scott is fine and he now has a week to prepare for the game against Leicester," Buchanan told the Western Mail.

Buchanan added, "Mark went for an X-ray after the game and there was some good news in the fact that it showed he did not suffer another knee injury.

"His problem now is with the top of a calf muscle. We will need further medical reports before knowing how long it should take Mark to recover.

"As it is not a cruciate ligament problem, it's possible that Mark could recover in time to face Leicester, but we won't know about that until there is a further medical report on the injury."
