Jenkins hoping for good reaction from Scarlets
January 8, 2002

Llanelli coach Gareth Jenkins has urged his side to restore their reputations when they take on the Leicester Tigers in their cruciaql Heineken Cup clash this weekend.

The Scarlets crashed to Perpignan 41-10 to Perpignan last weekend and now face a must-win battle at Stradey Park.

Jenkins told the Western Mail, "There is a realisation among the players that we can't change anything about what happened in Perpignan. But we can use a lot of what happened there to take into the game against Leicester.

"I don't think our scrum problems were a major factor in the game - the main reason for our downfall came down to individuals and their error-count.

"The first three Perpignan tries all came from our possession - and you really can't go to France and do that because the French are so good at punishing those sort of mistakes.

"We don't need to say how disappointed we were with the performance against Perpignan. We probably contributed greatly to the way in which they won the game."
