Galwey disappointed with Munster's failings

Munster captain Mick Galwey admitted his side must do better after they squeezed into the Heineken Cup quarter-finals despite a 21-13 defeat at Castres.

A late try from Olivier Sarramea secured top spot in Pool Four for the French club.

"We were disappointed that we didn't impose ourselves early on because we knew after the narrow win over them how good a side they were," said Galwey.

"We did not play well enough for long enough. At times we did construct play but we did not get the continuity.

"The match was there to be won and I wasn't aware of the significance of the try for them. We must go back and work a lot harder in preparation for the quarter-final."

Gregor Townsend, the Castres captain and Scottish international, said: "Obviously Munster were happy to lose by three points and qualify and we had to go all out for a win.

"Their breakthrough for their try was a hammer blow but the last try with the last throw of the ball in the game delighted the fans who loved it.

"Munster are an experienced side, they don't panic and now they have fast players coming at us at speed.

"The hero of our side was Romain Teulet who was only playing his third game at full-back.

"He has played half the season at scrum-half and we knew goal-kicking was his strong point but we didn't realise he would be such a success at full-back."
