Cats send loose-forward SOS
January 29, 2002

The Cats have been forced to send an SOS to the South African Rugby Football Union following yet another injury.

The Johannesburg-based Business Day reported on Tuesday that loose forward Russel Winter suffered a buttock muscle injury to become the fifth loose forward in the region to be laid low through injury.

Cats coach Frans Ludeke said he would ask Sarfu to release Lodewyk Hattingh, Gerrie Britz (pictured) or Pierre Uys to the Cats.

Hattingh and Uys are representing the Renegades - South Africa's shadow Super 12 side - while Free Stater Britz has been drafted into the Bulls side.

Apart from the injury crisis dogging the loose forwards, the Cats have also recently lost the services of Johan Ackermann, Thinus Delport and Japie Mulder.
