Galwey to captain Ireland

Ireland coach Eddie O'Sullivan has made four changes from the side that lost to the All Blacks and has installed lock Mick Galwey as skipper for their opening Six Nations clash with Wales on Sunday.

Munster's Paul O'Connell makes his debut as a replacement for the injured Malcolm O'Kelly, Frankie Sheahan comes in at hooker for injured captain Keith Wood, Geordan Murphy takes a spot on the wing and Simon Easterby will start on the blindside flank.

Munster skipper Mick Galwey takes over the leadership duties once again for his country but for the first time in a Six Nations Championship game.

Ireland: G Dempsey, G Murphy; K Maggs, B O'Driscoll, D Hickie; D Humphreys, P Stringer; P Clohessy, F Sheahan, J Hayes, M Galwey, capt, P O'Connell, S Easterby, D Wallace, A Foley.
