Keil leads Renegades

Boland Kavaliers centre Rudi Keil will lead the Renegades against Super 12 outfit the Cats in Bloemfontein on Friday night in the absence of regular captain Lodewyk Hattingh.

Hatting and fellow Renegades loose forward Pierre Uys have been drafted to the injury-riddled Cats, who have lost international stars Andre Venter, Rassie Erasmus, Andre Vos and Joe van Niekerk as well as promising Russel Winter to injuries.

Former SA under-21 centre Keil (pictured) was the vice-captain before, a role that for this game has been handed to Eastern Province loose forward Chean Roux.

Flyhalf Nel Fourie and prop Euguene Maqwelena were not considered due to injury.
