Principality Cup Quarter Final Draw
February 23, 2002

Pontypool, shock conquerors of Swansea in the seventh round of the Principality Cup on Friday night, have been rewarded for their giant killing performance with a home quarter-final draw.

They shocked Swansea 16-14 as they rolled back the years in a dramatic night and will now entertain Gwent rivals Ebbw Vale at the end of March for a place in the last four of the competition.

Eleven-time cup winners Llanelli, the most successful club in the history of the competition, have been handed with a home tie against Bridgend while Pontypridd will fancy their chances at home against Caerphilly.

Cup holders Newport, who defeated Bonymaen on Saturday in Swansea, will travel west again to take on Cardiff.

Quarter-final matches will be played on the weekend of March 29 and 30.

Full draw:

Cardiff v Newport

Pontypridd v Caerphilly
