Robertson doubtful

Scott Robertson looks set to miss the Crusaders' upcoming Super 12 clash with the Queensland Reds at Ballymore.

Having not been injured for the last four years, the All Black suffered a calf injury in the first half of his team's 30-11 victory over the Blues at Jade Stadium, and coach Robbie Deans says he's unlikely to recover in time to face the Reds.

"It's very unlikely we can consider him for this week," Crusaders coach Robbie Deans said. "That's a shame for him, especially as he's had a good run."

Sam Broomhall will replace Robertson if he is ruled out, while Deans is far more confident about Test lock Norm Maxwell's chances of returning from a shin injury that kept him out of the weekend's win.

Meanwhile Blues back-rower Ron Cribb will appear before the rugby judiciary tomorrow after an off-the-ball incident with Crusaders prop Greg Somerville.

Blues captain Glenn Taylor said the Crusaders played smarter rugby than his team.

"Our discipline let us down, we got penalised a lot," he said. "They played a smart game and we couldn't get going. They're a smart team."
