Llanelli set test for euro tickets
March 12, 2002

Llanelli are testing would-be buyers of tickets to their Heineken Cup semi-final by asking them for their postcodes.

With Leicester having sold out of their allocation for the April 28 showdown between the two clubs in Nottingham, the Scarlets are trying to ensure their genuine fans are snapping up tickets from Stradey Park. Those tickets go on public sale today (9.30am) at the club.

But people trying to buy tickets by telephone have been set a test to prevent Tigers' fans from taking any of the Llanelli allocation.

"We will be checking out the authenticity of all callers chasing tickets," Llanelli chief executive Stuart Gallacher told the Western Mail.

"We will also be giving away one pair of cup final tickets at three random moments throughout the day, to encourage fans to come here in person."
