Walker back for Brumbies

The Brumbies have named Andrew Walker at fullback for their fourth round Super 12 match against the Bulls at Loftus Versfeld in Pretoria on Saturday.

The selection of Walker at fullback sees Mark Bartholomeusz return to his regular starting position on the left wing, while Damian McInally drops back to the bench.

Centre James Holbeck has been given another week to recover from the knee strain which has kept him out of the first month of the competition.

Brumbies coach David Nucifora says his team has settled well since arriving in South Africa. "It does take a few days to adjust after the trip but the players are used to the travel and are enjoying being on tour," said Nucifora.

"We haven't loaded them up with a lot of physical work this week, preferring to let them settle in. We've done all the normal analysis work on the Bulls and will be finalising our game plan over the next day or so."

On the return of Walker (pictured), Nucifora said he was satisfied he was fit to play.

"We've only had one light run since arriving but he looks fit and I'm confident he's right to go. It was only a minor strain in the first place.

"In regards to Jimmy Holbeck his injury was more serious and he needs a bit more time before he's right to play. I expect he'll be fit for selection
next week."

Looking ahead to Saturday's match, Nucifora accepts his team will be favourites but believes the Bulls will improve. "I'm sure they'll improve. They showed some good form in patches against the Waratahs last week but struggled for consistency," said Nucifora.

"If they'd scored that try just before halftime, it might have been a different game. This is their fourth match of the season, so I expect they will find the combination and communication they've been missing.

"We won't be underestimating them. We've only won here once since the Super 12 began and the players are aware that we need to keep our momentum going."
