Dallaglio: 'It's good to be back'
March 16, 2002

Lawrence Dallaglio was disappointed with the Wasps 27-23 defeat at Sale, but delighted to have completed an arduous journey back to first-team action.

"It's great to be back," he said. "I can call myself a rugby player again. The next step is to call myself a winning rugby player."

The former England captain's target has always been a return to the national side.

But with the likes of Martin Corry and club-mate Joe Worsley ahead of him in the pecking order, Dallaglio is prepared to work hard for his place.

He said: "It's way too early to be thinking about a return to international rugby. To be selected for your country you have to be playing well week in, week out for your club.

"I have just completed half an hour of rugby and was on the losing side.

"I have a lot of hard work to do but I'm not scared of hard work."
