Dallaglio must wait until the summer
March 20, 2002

Lawrence Dallaglio looks as though he will have to wait until the summer tour to make his England comeback - providing there IS a tour.

The proposed South Sea Islands tour, with Tests against Fiji, Samoa and Tonga, is in the melting pot at the moment because dates can't be found for the matches.

The English domestic season runs on until June 8, while the Pacific Islanders have money-spinning games against New Zealand and South Africa lined up later in the month.

Rugby Football Union officials are trying to sort it out, but Woodward insists he wants an overseas trip for England this summer.

"I don't seriously expect Lawrence to play in Italy (England's final Six Nations game on April 7), but I expect him to play on the summer tour," said England coach Clive Woodward.
