SRU honour McLaren

The Scottish Rugby Union paid tribute to one of its favourite sons at Murrayfield on Friday afternoon.

Legendary BBC commentator Bill McLaren will take up the microphone for his final match at the Edinburgh venue tomorrow as his beloved Scots face France.

SRU president Graham Young marked the occasion today by presenting McLaren with a plaque renaming the Murrayfield press centre the Bill McLaren Press Suite.

McLaren is retiring at the end of the season after more than 50 years in broadcasting.

His final international will be in Cardiff next month when Scotland travel to Wales.
