US U-19 squad for Canada
March 26, 2002

The USA U-19 National team has made only one change to the starting line-up for Tuesday's match against Canada at the World Jr Championships in Italy. Inaki Basuri will suit up at lock while Will Looker moves onto the bench.

USA head coach Rick Humm expects the game to be physical, calling for his squad to step up to the challenge. "Ultimately this match will be won in the trenches and will be a test of talent and will. We have prepared well and have devised an approach suited for such a familiar opportunity. Now we have to just go out and play."

The USA lost 45-3 to the same Canadian team last December. Since the Eagles' 27-23 victory over the Ukraine on Friday, the squad has had two practices and a day off to spend time with friends and family.

The father of Vice captain Richard White, Randy, and Tyler Mintz's father, Mike Dunafon, arranged a family reception. Humm expressed his sincere thanks to both fathers as the event provided the team with much needed relaxation before preparations began for the Canadian match.

Humm also explained that while on the road, his staff looks for such opportunities to normalise life and include family members. Although not all parents were able to make the trip, Humm was quick to note that everyone involved with the team is indeed family.
