Tigers' mascot refused entry to euro semi!
March 27, 2002

In what could be seen as the latest example of bureacracy gone mad the Leicester Tigers' mascot Lester the Tiger will not be allowed to parade on the day of their Heineken Cup clash with Llanelli next month.

The European Rugby Cup committee have ruled that Tigers' popular mascot Lester Tiger will not be allowed in the City Ground, Nottingham, on April 28 if he is wearing a replica club strip.

The ERC believe the strip, containing the logo of club sponsors Vauxhall, would amount to "ambush-marketing".

This has left Leicester in the unenviable position of trying to find a new shirt with a 78-inch chest to get their number one fan into the stadium.
