Chiefs unchanged

Chiefs coach Kevin Greene has retained the same line-up that notched his team's first Super 12 win of the season last weekend for their first match in South Africa.

The Chiefs take on the Cats - the first team they have played this year that is below them on the points table - in Bloemfontein on Saturday.

The only possible change to the team that beat the Highlanders 29-24 in Invercargill last Saturday is at lock where Mark Weedon has been retained but has been bracketed with Royce Willis (pictured) due to a stiff back hurt during the Highlanders match and aggravated during travel and training.

"He's still not 100 percent so we'll see how he is on Friday", said Greene from Bloemfontein following a practice session.

He admitted he and forwards coach Dennis Brown were buying a bit of time as they also had to make a decision on the make-up of their bench with Willis, who missed the last match due to a head knock, not providing as much versatility as Chresten Davis.

Greene said there was a reluctance to change a winning team and he wanted to reward the whole starting line-up, including Weedon, with another opportunity. "Hopefully that form from last week will carry on."

Chiefs: Bruce Reihana, Roger Randle, Keith Lowen, Karl TeNana, Mark Ranby, Glen Jackson, Danny Lee, Deon Muir (capt), Marty Holah, Keith Robinson, Mark Weedon or Royce Willis, Jonno Gibbes, Deacon Manu, Keven Mealamu, David Briggs. Substitutes: Nick Collins, David Hill, Rhys Duggan, Scott Couch, Willis/Weedon/Chresten Davis, Michael Collins, Guy Coleman.
