Clohessy doubtful for Heineken Cup semi
April 16, 2002
Peter Clohessy's hopes of appearing for Munster in the Heineken Cup semi-final clash with Castres is looking more remote as he struggles to recover from the burns he sustained in a domestic accident. Although a decision on the prop's availability has not yet been taken, it is feared that burns on his face and arm, sustained in a freak accident last week, will prevent him playing. "It's not looking good for Peter but if necessary, he will be given additional time to recover," a Munster spokesman told the Daily Telegraph. Clohessy, who announced his retirement from international competition after winning his 54th cap against France in Paris earlier in the month, has been ever-present in Munster's Heineken Cup teams in recent seasons. If forced to withdraw, the likelihood is that his place will go to Marcus Horan. |
