Finegan losing race

Brumbies flanker Owen Finegan is now rated as extremely doubtful for Saturday's crucial Super 12 clash against the Waratahs in Sydney.

Finegan will not be released from hospital until Friday morning giving coach David Nucifora little time to prepare the side.

The Wallaby flanker was admitted to hospital on Monday night and placed on an intravenous drip in a bid to recover quickly from an infected knee.

Nucifora has had a horror week with hooker Jeremy Paul also unable to train. Paul will have his first run on his injured ankle on Friday.
