Paramore agrees new deal with Gloucester

Gloucester's Samoan back row Junior Paramore has agreed a new two-year contract with the Kingsholm club.

The deal means the 33-year-old will have played for five seasons at Kingsholm by the time his new contract expires in 2004.

The number eight has been in storming form for the Cherry and Whites this season, scoring 11 tries - the most recent on Saturday during the destruction of Bath.

"I am glad Nigel Melville (director of rugby) wanted me to stay and that I am in his plans for next season," said the gentle giant.

"I want to give my body a good rest now and come back next season to target the Heineken Cup."

Paramore, the second oldest member of the Gloucester squad, says he is keen to show the youngsters next season that age and experience has its place at Kingsholm.

"It makes me determined to prove that age does not mean a thing," he said.

"There are some good young boys around, but I believe I am playing really well."
