Andrew set for new deal with Falcons
May 14, 2002

Newcastle Falcons director of rugby Rob Andrew is on the verge of signing a new five year deal with the Zurich Premiership club.

Andrew, the longest-serving director of rugby in the English professional game, hopes to sign the deal this summer to coincide with work starting on a £12-million ground development that should give Kingston Park facilities capable of catering for crowds of more than 10,000.

The former England outside-half joined Newcastle in October, 1995, when Sir John Hall bought the club one month after the game turned professional.

During his reign at Newcastle the Falcons have won one Premiership title and a national cup.
