Dwyer confident ahead of big one

Waratahs coach Bob Dwyer says he can't remember a week when his side has been more positive.

The Waratahs meet the Brumbies in the Super 12 semi-final at Aussie Stadium on Saturday, just one week after a humiliating 77-point loss to the Crusaders in Christchurch last week.

But according to Dwyer the Christchurch debacle is forgotten.

"The season doesn't run for one weekend, the season runs for - hopefully - 14 weeks. So over the whole season the guys have done very well," Dwyer said. "I can't remember any week when they've been more positive than this last week."

The Waratahs received a boost on the eve of the game with flanker Phil Waugh named as a definite starter, despite failing to finish the final training session on Friday due to his injured ankle.

Waugh has been missing for the Waratahs in the past two weeks when they lost to the Reds and the Crusaders. Reserve back Manny Edmonds has also recovered from a calf strain, although he would be monitored in the lead-up to the match.
